Biography

Jeffrey Lyons joined the firm's litigation department in January 2004. His emphasis is on real estate litigation. His experience includes matters involving easement, boundary line, landlord-tenant, foreclosure, vineyard development, construction defect, joint owner disputes, and business contract disputes. Jeff represents secured creditors in commercial foreclosure matters from pre-sale enforcement of the creditor's rights through post-sale possession issues including bankruptcy proceedings. Jeff also represents purchasers of foreclosed properties in post-sale litigation claims of wrongful foreclosure, and for possession issues including bankruptcy proceedings.

In 2002, prior to joining the firm, Jeff was recognized by the San Francisco Superior Court as a Court Mediator for its Small Claims Division. He has also participated as a party representative in EEOC mediations and is the author of "Be Prepared": When Unsuspecting Employers are Vulnerable for Title VII Sexual Harassment Claims, 37 U.S.F. L. Rev. 467 (2003). In 2013, Jeff received the Sonoma County Bar Association's Pro Bono Special Recognition Award for his articles providing insightful analysis of changes in the Local Superior Court Rules published in the Sonoma County Bar Journal twice a year from 2006 to 2013. From 2016 through 2018, Jeff served a three-year term as a member of the Board of the Sonoma County Bar Association. Jeff also serves as a Settlement Conference Panelist for the Sonoma Superior Court where he volunteers his time to mediate cases set for trial.
