Biography

Ryan C. Griffith is an Shareholder and court-appointed receiver who joined Clement Fitzpatrick & Kenworthy as a shareholder. His practice focuses on real estate, municipal law, receiverships, and complex nuisance abatement litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Griffith developed extensive experience in real estate and municipal enforcement matters, including the use of statutory remedies to address distressed and blighted properties.

In addition to his role at the firm, Mr. Griffith continues to advise Bay Area Receivership Group, where he manages court-appointed receiverships, drafts reports, and delivers presentations to organizations including the California League of Cities, the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers, and the California State Association of Counties. In this capacity, cities and counties regularly seek his guidance on addressing dangerous and nuisance properties through civil litigation.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Griffith founded the Neighborhood Law Program at the Vallejo City Attorney’s Office, working closely with law enforcement and municipal departments to combat crime and neighborhood blight. His work earned him recognition as the Solano County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer of the Year in 2013.

Mr. Griffith is also an adjunct law professor and has taught courses in Remedies, Real Estate Transactions, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Trial Advocacy. He is known for his practical, real-world approach to teaching and strong student engagement.

In addition, Mr. Griffith is a published author and frequent speaker on receiverships and nuisance abatement. His work has appeared in the California Daily Journal, the California Lawyers Association Public Law Journal, and multiple law reviews, including publications affiliated with Seattle University, the University of Massachusetts, Lincoln Memorial University, and Golden Gate University.

Mr. Griffith earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law, graduating in the top 12% of his class and receiving multiple academic honors, including Witkin and CALI awards and membership in the Jesse Carter Honor Society. He also holds a Master’s degree in History from Missouri State University and earned his undergraduate degree from California State University, Chico, where he was a varsity basketball player and scholar-athlete.

He has been admitted by the State Bar of California and the Washington D.C. Bar to practice law practice in California and the District of Columbia.
